We all have moments (or days or weeks, etc.) of feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Sometimes I feel like a stick stuck in the sand!
I find the best and quickest solution is to take a few minutes to unwind, de-stress and slow down. This could be as quick as a cup of tea or as long as a slow walk in nature. I usually suggest that my clients take a moment to consider what would work best in their life at that time. You want to choose something that is quick and easily fits into your lifestyle. Here are some quick suggestions to get you started.
Take 5-1o minutes to …
- Breath deeply.
- Move your body: Stretch; walk around; stand up if you’ve been sitting; sit on the floor instead of the couch; dance around; etc.
- Send a note to a friend.
- Write in a journal.
- Enjoy a cup of tea or cocoa or a refreshing glass of water.
- Listen to your favorite song.
- Play with a child or a pet.
- Look at something beautiful.
- Start a new project.
- Go outside.
- Sit quietly with yourself.
- Drive without listening to the radio.
- Ask for support.
- Take your first step toward a special dream.
- Do something different during your day!

I wish to show my appreciation to this writer for rescuing me from such a situation. After looking out throughout the world-wide-web and meeting ideas that were not productive, I figured my entire life was over. Living without the presence of answers to the problems you’ve resolved by means of your main report is a critical case, as well as the ones which might have in a negative way damaged my career if I hadn’t discovered your website. Your main expertise and kindness in playing with the whole thing was valuable. I don’t know what I would have done if I had not come across such a step like this. I am able to at this point relish my future. Thanks a lot very much for this skilled and result oriented help. I will not hesitate to propose your web sites to any person who should have assistance about this subject.
Great tips Rena! It’s comforting to know that everybody feels stressed and overwhelmed at times. We’re human, after all. Doing something different, anything, can help give us a jolt of positive energy. I like to find a few tranquil moments by just focusing totally on the present moment. That quiet stillness gives me peace and renews my spirit.
Renee, thank you for your comment. Beautiful tip … Connect to quiet stillness by focusing on the present moment! Yes!
